Frequently Asked Questions

What health and safety procedures are in place at Andalusia?
The Andalusia Historic House, Gardens and Arboretum is committed to providing a safe experience for our guests. We are following health and sanitation guidelines provided by the CDC, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and Bucks County. Public touch points and surfaces will be cleaned regularly. Social distancing will be practiced whenever possible. Face masks and other forms of personal protective equipment are recommended when social distancing policies cannot be followed.

 

Do I need to wear a mask while I tour the gardens?
Face masks are recommended if you are unable to maintain social distancing from other visitors not in your group. While the gardens and riverfront landscape provide plenty of room for visitors, specific points of interest may bring visitors closer to one another.

 

Can I tour the historic Big House?
Due to health and safety guidelines, The Big House will not be open for tours this season to ensure the safety and well-being of visitors and staff.

 

How many people will be allowed to visit at the same time?
Each Public Tour will have a maximum number of 25 tickets available for purchase. Public Tours are available Monday – Wednesday (excluding Holidays) through October 28, 2020 from 10 a.m. – 12 noon and 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Advance reservations are required. Purchase tickets.

 

Are bathrooms available for visitors?
Yes, bathrooms will be open for visitors and will be cleaned regularly.

 

Will you host Open Saturdays this year?
Yes, we will welcome visitors for Open Saturdays on June 20, September 19, October 24, and November 7, 2020. Tours available from 10 a.m. – 12 noon and 1 p.m. – 3 p.m., and our grounds close at 3 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are $15 per person. House Tours and workshops will not be offered this season. Purchase tickets.

 

Are reservations required for Public Tours and Open Saturdays?
Yes, advance reservations are required for all events and can be purchased online with a credit card here.

All sales are final. Tickets are non-refundable and may not be exchanged for another date and time. Lost or stolen tickets will not be refunded or replaced.

 

Are Group Tours still being offered?
Group Tours of the gardens may be booked in advance for groups of 6 to 25 people. Reservations are accepted year-round and are $15/person. Due to health and safety guidelines, The Big House will not be open for tours this season to ensure the safety and well-being of visitors and staff.

 

Will Andalusia hold its annual Garden Party?
The popular Garden Party fundraising event will be combined with our annual Cabaret by the River event on Saturday, October 3. Visit the Cabaret by the River page for more information.

 

Do you recommend guests wear any specific clothing or footwear?
We recommend sturdy footwear as some paths are unmade. Our tours do continue in wet weather, so sturdy shoes or boots along with suitable weatherproof clothing are recommended.

 

Do you have a photographing policy?
Wedding, engagement, family, or other portrait photography is not permitted in the garden except those whose wedding or event will be held at Andalusia.

We do encourage our guests to take casual photographs for their own personal use; however no personal photographs may be used for commercial purposes.
